This is most often caused after a night's rest, particular foods, poor oral hygiene habits, periodontal disease, cavities, dry mouth, tobacco, dehydration, and certain medical conditions.

How can I prevent bad breath?

1. Maintain consistently healthy oral hygiene on a daily basis.

2. Visit your dentist regularly.

3. Stop any habits that will have negative impacts on your mouth's health. This includes, among other habits, smoking and chewing tobacco.

4. Drink water frequently throughout the day.

5. Use mouthwash daily.

What can I do to treat bad breath?

Your dentist can diagnose the cause of your bad breath and treat it accordingly. If necessary, the dentist may recommend that you visit a doctor.
